Urban Home Renovation
An old city apartment turned into a warm, distinctive home for short stays
This complete renovation transforms an old city apartment into a warm and distinctive space for short-term stays, where contemporary comfort is combined with details that convey a sense of history and individuality.
The interior is built around a warm, calm colour palette, natural wood and classic architectural elements such as decorative cornices and panelled doors. These are complemented by bolder accents—brass lighting and fixtures, black metal details, vintage-inspired furniture and decorative ceramic tiles in rich shades of blue. These contrasts give the apartment a strong identity while maintaining a light and welcoming atmosphere.
The kitchen is designed as a natural extension of the living area, featuring classic cabinetry in a soft grey tone, a wooden worktop and a compact dining space. Wide glazed doors visually connect the different rooms while still allowing them to be separated when privacy is needed.
Particular attention was given to the bathroom, where ornamental ceramic tiles, blue-green tones and brass details create one of the apartment’s most memorable features. The decorative tiles also appear as subtle accents elsewhere in the property, becoming a recurring design motif throughout the project.
The bedrooms and shared spaces were designed around the actual guest experience, with comfortable beds, layered lighting, practical storage and a carefully curated mix of furniture, materials and textures. Mirrors combining wood and leather, woven details, black metal and warm lighting create the feeling of a home rather than a standard rental property.
The result is an Airbnb apartment with a strong identity—functional and comfortable for short stays, yet distinctive enough to be remembered. Rather than erasing the apartment’s past, the renovation reinterprets it, creating a contemporary urban interior with atmosphere, thoughtful detailing and character.
